I have been told that Cali has become an experienced "angler"?? I believe that is the correct terminology?? Anyways....in laymans terms, she has taken up a love for fishing. I had a hard time believing my prissy little 5 year old had a love for anything other than designer clothing or being bossy, so I decided that I had to check things out for myself.
Sure enough, she absolutely loves it. Fishing is evidently a hobby?? I mean, it seems kind of boring going out and casting, reeling, casting, reeling, but I guess people enjoy it?? I couldn't believe how big she has gotten. She opens the package of worms, rips them in half (blood, guts, and all) and puts them on her own hook. I watched in astonishment; it was really quite impressive.
I have actually learned quite a lot about fishing as of late.
For example....
#1. It's called "getting cleaned" when a fish eats your worm. Or else, that is what Cali has decided to call it. "Dang it, it cleaned me." OR "That stupid fish cleaned me". OR "oops, got cleaned".
#2. You can actually "hook" someone
#3. Noah will go in after a fish. He really hasn't learned the ropes yet.
Noah actually enjoys fishing too; although he is not quite as brave as his older sister.
For example....
#1. Cali rips worms in half. Noah talks to worms.
His dialogue went as follows:
Noah: "Here wommy, wommy, wommy. Come here wommy, wommy wommy.
Worm: (nothing)
Noah: "WOMMY...say hi to me WOMMY!!"
Worm: (nothing)
Noah: "Tupid wommy"
#2. Cali takes the fish off her line when she catches one. Noah talks to the fish
Noah: "Poa (poor) fishy". "Me sad fishy"
Overall, fishing has been a hit. Well, except when mom goes. I get bit by the flies and make every go home. I believe I've been the designated "stayer-homer" the next time they go out.
