Summer Movie Night

The First Presbyterian Church in Fairbury held another summer movie night last night. It was such a fun evening filled with popcorn, glow sticks, soda, and lots of entertainment from the kids! They played Toy Story 3 on the big screen. Usually it is held outside, but it was moved into the sanctuary this time. I'm not sure what they reason for that was, but I'm thrilled that it was! It kind of had that junior high school lock-out feel to it?? We laid blankets out on the floor of the sanctuary and kicked back and enjoyed Buzz and Woody.

Cali's friend William, from pre-school, was there (actually, he is the pastor's son, so I kind of figured he would be there. He was the ace in my back pocket I pulled when Cali started pouting 5 minutes before we left and said she wasn't going :) She loved hanging out and making glow stick belts with him (it's actually a lost art). They were pretty impressed with themselves after chaining 8 glow sticks together to make a fashionable piece of clothing.

We had an absolute blast together and didn't even have to leave town for it. Thanks a ton to Spencer and Alyssa Homan for putting in all that hard work to make the night such a success! Donations for the night helped support their next youth mission trip; they are going to Joplin, MO this summer to help the clean-up and rebuilding efforts. So, if anyone is feeling extra generous, please make a donation to a great group :)
