She's a softball player.....yes she is.....
Well, Cali had her first official SOFTBALL game this past Saturday. That's right, folks....she's in the big leagues now! Now they use a pitching machine to hit the balls (not sure I was ready to advance up from tee-ball!). They get 8 pitches and if they cannot hit it in one of the eight, then they get to hit from a tee. She batted 3 times and hit the ball all 3! She did SO well, and really enjoyed it too! She looked so darn grown up out there!
Noah had quite a good time as well! He ate 6 ring pops and ran around like a crazy person most of the game. He did have quite a good time with Jim and Jeanne when they got there. He stole Papa Jim's chair shortly upon their arrival. He was certain that they brought it for him :) Then to top off a great day, they got to go camping for a while with Richard and Shelly. They are two pretty lucky ducks! Big thanks to Richard and Shelly for coming back from camping to watch her game. She was pretty pumped they were there :)

On to 1st Grade.....
Well, Cali (and I) survived her 1st year of school. Hard to believe that it is over with. I have to admit that it was quite a difficult adjustment for me! I really feel that I was FINALLY getting used to Cali being in school all day and now it's over! She really enjoyed her first year and all the friends she made.
Highlights of the year (out of the mouth of Cali):
1. Best thing about Mrs. Bounds
A: She was a really nice teacher and wore pretty black heels every day
2. Best friend
A: Carley
3. Favorite thing to do in school
A: Recess
4. Favorite field trip
A: Kilgus Farm
5. What she liked the least
A: School lunches (let's get real, she ate a school lunch 1 time all year. In fact, she was probably the only Kindergardner who ate out more than she did at school. I'm guessing on average she was taken out to lunch once a week. Ridiculous, I know)
Hard to believe I'm going to have a 1st grader next year! She has grown up (and learned SO MUCH) this past year!
As for Mr. Noah.... Well, he is as crazy as every. I was laying the punks down the other night and asked both him and Cal what they want to be when they grow up. Cali immediately states that she want to be a rich billionaire. Noah doesn't miss a beat and replies that he can't decide between a transformer and a pickle. Don't worry. The next night he comforted me by letting me know that it is "definitely a pitle (pickle). I love pitles. I could eat myself". Thank God he is cute. Oh, and he is sweet. So, so sweet. In fact, he is quick to throw out all sorts of compliments. The other day he informed me that I was beautiful. Not "very beautiful, but beautiful". He's a little keeper if you ask me :)
Other happenings in the kiddos lives...
1. Cali is in softball this year. She is doing great with it, but lacks the...how do I say it...ok, she doesn't like it. I'm trying to practice with her, but she is TOTALLY uninterested. She would much rather pick weeds in the garden.
2. Speaking of the garden....I have my VERY FIRST GARDEN this year! I have one for fruits and one for veggies (they are both about 150x25). The kids have absolutely LOVED picking weeks, watering it, and harvesting the vegetables.
3. Cali does not have a boyfriend. But she keeps telling me that she thinks she needs one to chase around, make him like her, and then ditch him for someone else who is fun (don't worry, I'm enrolling her in therapy :)
4. Noah has no plans for the summer (or so he informed me). He plans on relaxing (and picking on yissy) all summer.
Well, I could go on and on about the happenings in our lives since my last post (afterall, that was 6 months ago), but I don't have the time or energy to do so (and Cali and Noah are doing the "spider" on the swing as I type and I'm fairly certain it will not end well for one or both, so I should probably wrap this up.I'm really going to try and put an effort into updating this more so I can look back in 20 years and remember how crazy my punks were :)

Probably should update this thang....
Well, it's been like 6 months and figured I should probably update my blog. I mean, I have nothing going on right now. It's not like Noah is messing up Cali's Littlest Pet Shot house she got for Christmas, and it's not like Cali is karate chopping him in the stomach as payback. Nope, I have all the time in the world to update this...
So, probably should cover the last few months in a nutshell.
1. Cali doesn't like school. She has already mastered the art of faking sick. In fact, she tells me that most moms just come to school at lunch and take their kids home. Hmmmm......
2. Noah is a stinker (no shock there I'm sure). His new thing is to hit and tell me he "not love me so much" when he doesn't get his way. Thank God he is cute. That's all I'm saying.
3. Cali was Miss Merry Christmas this year in the Fairbury Christmas Parade. She is still convinced she's royalty. Seriously.
4. Cali was in basketball this year. And I was the coach. Yes, this is for real. We were clearly Boy's and Girls Club champions. I think it was because of all the knowledge I was able to impress upon them.
And now for Christmas.....
Christmas 2011 was AMAZING! Well, most of it. On Christmas Eve, we went to my mom and Jim's church. Noah fell asleep on the way over and I seriously felt like I hit the lottery with that one. In fact, as he was sleeping on my chest in church I told my mom, "when he's sleeping, I feel like my heart loves him just a llliiitttlllee bit more". (I was kind of kidding with that). Well, much to my dismay, the kid wakes up, 2 seconds into service. He began SCREAMING, "I WANNNNTTT TO GO HOOOOMMMEEE". Finally I called Jordan and made him pick him up. I was STERNLY explaining to Noah while we were waiting for Jordan how mad I was at him. His response you ask? "I don't tare mom. Dit over it". Charming. I know.
FINALLY, Jordan gets there and I am able to go back in. I sit down and now explain to Cali how furious I am that I had to miss 2 songs. Without missing a beat, she chimes in, "you didn't miss anything with this song mom. This solo is no good" :) It was hilarious. In all honesty, it was the most amazing Christmas Eve, no, church serivce, that I have ever been too. Pastor Homan did a wonderful job! It will be hard to top next year!!
Later that night I put their footie pajamas on them, brought 2 cups of hot chocolate, and jumped in the truck to go look for Santa. It lasted about an hour and a half. Cali insisted that she saw him. 1 million times. Noah insisted that Santa was dead and that he wanted to go home.
Christmas morning was finally here. It was the first time that they were really excited about Christmas and Santa! Every gift Noah opened he yelled, "THIS WAS JUUUSSSTTT WHAT I WANTED". I'd say the drum set he got was a fav. He looked pretty darn cute banging on them. All.Day....as in All.Day.
Cali got TOOONNNNSSS of gifts. Tons and tons of Barbies, crafts, wuggle pets, a pottery wheel, Barbie scooter, BOUNCE HOUSE, well, the list goes on and on. Her favorite gift you ask? Oh, it was the $5 pillow that Jordan's mom got her. The one with a little pocket on it for when you lose a tooth. Yes, one that you put your dirty, disgusting tooth in once it falls out while you wait for the tooth ferry to bring you $20 too much. I'm considering wrapping Kleenex and paper towel rolls next year for her for Christmas.
Christmas is now over and the New Year is almost here. Can't wait to see what 2012 has in store for the Roy house!
PS- It's December 29th, and I've already threatened 2 times that Santa is not coming next year. Too soon?
PPS- I'll post pictures soon. Well, probably in another 6 months :)

Drum roll please...........
Do I dare say it....
I believe I will. Noah Michael Roy is potty trained. All of his business is conducted while sitting on a pink potty while he reads Better Homes and Garden Magazine.
He has been doing SO well at this whole potty business (which it's about time if you ask me. And my pocket book).
He went to my moms on Saturday and I receive this picture from her, with the caption:
"Pooped 3 times. Jesus does it stink"
Nailed it :)

As Promised..............
So you're excited about school, Cali?!?
You are my sunshine. My only sunshine. You make me HAPPY, when skies are gray.
She wasn't really feeling the first day poses.....
Well, maybe she was a little :)
She is such a doll
The only time I smiled that morning :) And forgive me for looking like death; I was in crisis mode all morning!
Rearranging her lunch box. She is her mothers daughter!
And off we go......(yes, this is when the tears started :)
And of course.....second day outfit photo shoot!

School Update
I will start this post off by saying, I SWEAR I WILL POST PICTURES OF CALI'S FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL! I plan on making good on my promise tonight once I get my kids to sleep (or in Noah's case, possibly PUT him to sleep).
So, we all survived Cali's first few days of school. I had truly been dreading the start of school for weeks (all summer to be honest). For some reason I just do not feel ready for Cali to be in school. I love being able to get off work early and pick them up at 1:00; if I'm working in town I want to be able to pick them up from Shanna's and take them out for lunch for an hour or so. Now that she is in school, this has all changed.
I will preface this post by admitting that I am a compete and utter lunatic....Enjoy.
Cali was very excited for her first day. I wanted everything to be perfect for her, so I stayed up all night practicing on her lunch. I was so concerned the spaghetti that I packed wasn't going to stay hot, or that she wasn't going to be able to open the containers that I packed.
Morning (sadly) came, and I woke her up and tried to act really excited about everything. She picked out her own outfit, decided how she wanted to wear her hair, and off we went. Well, she had to reorganize her lunchbox, but then, off we went to school. As I parked and walked in with her, I realized I wasn't going to be able to make it. I put my sunglasses back on so she wouldn't be able to see my cry.
I was so worried.
Would she like school?
Would she like her teacher?
Would she like the lunch I packed?
What will she do when "rest time" rolls around?
Finally I realized I had to just get out of there. I brought in my camera so I could take some pictures of her inside, but I just couldn't do it. We put her book bag and lunchbox in her room and headed down to the art room where all the younger kids go in the am's before school. All this time I am a complete wreck. I kissed her and off I went.
I bawled until noon that day. I know I work and don't usually see Cali most days, but I felt lost without her.
I picked her up after school on the first day and she was SOOOO upset that I didn't let her ride the bus home. I tried explaining to her that it was the first day and that I really wanted to spend some time with her and hear how her day went. She obviously didn't care as she told me how much she "hated me and that I was the worst human being ever because I didn't let her ride with her friends" :)
Today was her 3rd day of school and I think she likes it for the most part. I think that being there all day in a HUGE adjustment for her and she has asked a couple of times if she can go half days.
As for me, I am doing a little better :) I only shed a few tears the second day and only a few more today (after Cali wouldn't let me walk her inside this am) :) I will admit though that as I watched Cali get off the bus this afternoon it kind of broke my heart. She is growing up so fast and I can hardly believe it.
So........that's how the first few days of school have wrapped up.
PS- don't worry about me. I'm sure this is nothing that Xanax and therapy can't clear up :)

The Big First Day.........
Well, I can honestly say that I have been dreading this day for weeks. Cali is starting her first day of school tomorrow.
Let me make this clear. Cali is VERY excited!!
Mom on the other hand....well....I honestly worked from home today because I cried for half a day. I have even "practiced" her lunch 3 different times tonight. I'll post pictures tomorrow. Hopefully it goes by easier than what I am anticipating.....
