Shucking Corn 2011

I decided I was going to freeze sweet corn for the first time.

I was pumped.

Totally prepared.

I bought 8 bags of sweet corn (with 14 ears in a bag. you do the math. that is a hell of a lot of sweet corn). Dear sweet Cali and Noah decided they would help me. Cali shucked it while Noah......cleaned it off with a marinating brush?? Anyways, we got it all cleaned. Then I got busy, so I put it in the fridge for a couple hours. Surely it can sit in the cold for a little bit, right?

Well, my motivation for canning sweet corn died that night. I decided I'd do it in the morning.

You can obviously guess what happened next.....

I pitched all that sweet corn after it sat in my fridge for 4 days. Canning freaking sweet corn is for the birds!

She was a HUGE help!

Noah on the other hand....well.....he was more of a "supervisor" that day

"But mom....i'm SOOOOO cute"

Growing up so fast!!!

Best part.....she cleans up afterwards :)
