Cali's first day of preschool

SHE'S A PRESCHOOLER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

God bless her teacher :)

"Ok Mom. Enough with the pictures" :)

Cali eating breakfast before her first day of school :)

And of course Noah needed his picture taken eating breakfast on Cali's big first day of school too!

I haven't been great at updating this (go figure). Well...in the last 2 weeks Noah had his family birthday party, Cali started preschool, soccer games and horse lessons have been in full swing, harvest is almost over (thank God), and oh yeah....I have 23 inch hair :)

Updates on preschool:

1. Cali is LOVING preschool. She has learned to write lots of letters, made tons of new friends, and is beginning to figure out what she wants to do with the rest of her life :) Mom and I asked her today what she wanted to be when she grew up. Right now she is leaning more towards a princess, but a ballerina is in a close second in case princess falls through. I had to inform her that those really aren't viable options and that maybe she should look at being a doctor, veterinarian, or humanitarian. After giving her a 15 min. speech as to why those are good alternatives, she looks at me and says, "well....if princess and ballerina don't work, I guess I could be a professional barbie". God love her.

2. I am really trying to teach Cali that being nice to the kids in class is much more important than being popular or smart. Mom told Cali today that being nice is much more important than being pretty. Her response? "Well.....I'll choose to be nice AND pretty".

3. Cali has her first "class picture" tomorrow. Makes me kind of sad :( When did she grow up?! As the tears form in my eyes they quickly go away knowing that tomorrow she will wake up for pictures and we will have a 2 hour fight as to why I am ruining her life, trying to make her look stupid for school because of the outfit I pick out for her :)

Updates on Noah:

1. He had his second birthday (and yes, I know I am late with thank yous. They will be in the mail tomorrow :) He had a blast (although, I believe Cali had more fun as she nominated herself as the official present opener)

2. Noah has started talking more. Currently, he has no problem telling you "no" or that he wants to "spit on you". Just when I think those are areas of concern, I remember when Cali was his age she was telling me that she hated me and that I ruined her life. So, I'll call this a small victory.

As for the rest of life....well...it's just plain CRAZY. Harvest is wrapping up, which I couldn't be more excited about! I have had WAY too many calls this year from farmers who are upset :( I cope with their anger by eating (to the tune of 8 lbs. over the last 3 weeks). I am seriously considering suing everyone who called and yelled at me this year. You will soon be hearing from my lawyer :) A couple of weeks ago I decided that I needed a good long break from work after this harvest was all over. I planned a (VERY) spur of the moment trip to Ireland. I was planning on going solo and then my friend decided to go a couple of days ago (which I couldn't be any more excited about!!) I will be gone for 10 days and couldn't be any more excited about it!!

Oh yeah....and for the hair :) I decided that I needed some major changes in my life- starting with my hair! I have been trying to grow mine out for the past 6 months and it is still SO short :( I went to a salon the other day and got 2 different Jessica Simpson and Ken Paves hair extensions. One is 23 inches and the other is 21 inches (which has turned into quite the joke). I saw Kelsey and Molly at the mall and they couldn't quit taking about my long hair. It's popularity has escalated, and I believe my hair has been featured on TMZ and the CBS Evening News with Katie Couric :) You know you are jealous Kels and Mol!
